Tell us about your latest release
Fighting Giants: Our self titled album was released last October. It features 7 original compositions and a special track that ties in with out friends Defy The Tyrants’ Single “Fighting Gravity” (Pavement Entertainment).
Have you been touring for your recent release?
Fighting Giants: We haven’t been touring, We’re still a bunch of working stiffs doing this for the pure enjoyment of it.
Have you got any crazy tour stories you can share with the world?
Fighting Giants: In our youth we used to get pretty gnarly with it. but these days were all family men. I (Dick Burke) enjoy having my son help out at shows, and John’s sons come help a lot as well.
Here at Upside Down Shark we discuss a wide breadth of pop-culture, including music, movies, TV, video games and the like. So with that in mind, if you could have a track featured in anything, whether it be any of the above on even a wrestling theme, what would it be?
Fighting Giants: Man, our Song ‘Gratified’ would be a pumpin’ jam to have as a wrestling or fight intro.
Name one thing on your band bucket list
Fighting Giants: To be able to write and perform music as a career would be huge. Times are tough for independent artists though.
What would be your inspirational quote to share with the world?
Fighting Giants: ”Man is Made or unmade by himself, in the armoury of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself; he also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace.” – James Allan.
What does 2020 have in store for you?
Fighting Giants: Lots of fun activities! Writing and tracking more music at BHP in Tennessee, and plenty of awesome shows (a couple we aren’t allowed to announce yet).
What’s your favourite shark?
Fighting Giants: An awkward silence comes over the band as we did not receive an answer!
